Businesses Recommended by Families from Thomas's Schools

Sarah and Katie founded The Directory ten years ago and it now successfully promotes over 100 businesses owned, run or recommended by the parents, teachers and past pupils of Thomas's London Day Schools.

The businesses are promoted to parents at the five Thomas's schools through a 56 page printed book and a specially designed website. Click HERE  to see the website, HERE to sign up for The Directory Newsletters and HERE to see the 9th printed edition of The Directory.

Kate Slesinger, Publishing Director of House & Garden
says... "I first came across The Directory when I was a parent at Thomas’s Kensington.  As far as I know, no other Prep Schools are offering this sort of practical 'parents-helping-parents' service:  it’s fantastic and full of little gems in every category.  The perfect pairing with House & Garden, in fact."

On 28th November 2017 Mumfidential featured The Directory in their Handpicked Christmas Gift Guide

"Every parent needs to know about The Directory. It’s a comprehensive list of “tried and tested” companies that have been recommended by parents (with children at Thomas’s London Day Schools) – all of which are offering a special discount or incentive to Mumfidential readers this Christmas.

Included in the line up are animal and family portrait artists, fabulous cushions, photo storybooks and sparkling jewellery, plus artisan shampoos, beachwear, toys and travel companies. You don’t really need to go anywhere else for your Christmas shopping and you can find useful services on there too such as caterers and home finders."

February 2019 - A Happy Thomas's Parent says... "I’ve used the Directory quite a few times myself and I’ve never been disappointed. I have always found friendly workers who got on with the job quickly and efficiently. I found it easy to have a list of services to rely on."

March 2019 – Andy Matthews, Andyman Property Services says… “I have had a great response to The Directory newsletter you created and sent out for us, 5 enquiries on the first day and a further 3 or 4 since - all good leads which I am quoting on and all goods jobs. Plus one booking already. I'm very happy, thank you.”

March 2019 - CF, a former Kings Canterbury parent, says... "We found Why House through The Thomas's Directory, and can't recommend it more highly. Henrietta Cottam and her team offer large, stylish, luxurious rooms surrounded by beautiful gardens and an exceptional pool.  Delicious food is served in the dining pavilion where guests can mingle or have a quiet evening.  Tuk Tuks await for whisking guests to the nearby Indian Ocean or shopping trips... Altogether a fabulous experience with nothing too much trouble for Henrietta, it has become a new favourite for us, longing to return!"

June 2019 - MPR Communications says... "I was delighted to find Graphic Designer Xenia Petley in the Thomas’s Directory; she came highly recommended by the team at Silks PR as well.  I run a drinks PR company and have a lot of exciting new business pitches in the pipeline. Our existing credentials presentation and PR proposal template were out of date and needed a re-fresh.  After only one meeting , Xenia grasped exactly what we needed and translated it into a fresh, contemporary design which my team loves.  She definitely helped us win a super premium new gin client the following week!  I can’t recommend her highly enough."
