Firsts - London's Rare Book Fair
Firsts London (formally known as the ABA Rare Book Fair, London) is the ABA’s annual flagship event and the world’s largest independent marketplace for rare and out-of-print books.
In Febrarury 2018 the ABA appointed Silks PR & Marketing to handle the PR for the Fair which was opened by Sir David Attenborough.
In June 2019 the ABA held its 62nd Fair where more than 150 exhibitors from around the world brought rare books, prints, maps and ephemera to Battersea Park. Prior to the Fair we organised a Press Breakfast at the Globe Theatre where journalists had the opportunity to see a Shakespeare First Folio. The Fair was opened by Stephen Fry and was deeemed to be successful in attracting a new younger crowd of book lovers as well as serious collectors.
The 2020 Fair was due to take place in Battersea Park from Friday 5th - Sunday 7th June but unfortunately due to COVID-19 had to move online. With the move online it was decided to not proceed with the planned PR.
